On Gemini Season
Clarity, purpose, achievement, success. All of these things are so celebrated in our society.
And yet, Gemini is not so concerned with these things.
It’s not that Gemini doesn’t have purpose or doesn’t desire success, it's just that single pointed focus that seems to be such a desirable trait for successful people isn’t something that comes easy to Gemini. The reason why is simple: they are highly changeable, with too much mental energy to funnel into just one thing.
Gemini is enriched by gathering information from many places. Too much focus on one thing will bore Gemini to death and kill the childlike, mischievous, playful spirit that is natural to them.
I encourage you to explore your birth chart to see any planets you have in Gemini, and which house is ruled by Gemini. If there is any part of you that feels irresponsible, childish, unfocused, scattered - you may find that this is where Gemini plays a big role in your life. The trick to channeling your Gemini energy is that you must feed it well with information that fuels your mind, meditation to keep your mind clear, conversation that is enriching rather than depleting amongst any other things that nourish you mentally and satisfy your curiousity!
As we enter the last week of Gemini season, and we have the Gemini new moon behind is, the time is ripe for reflecting on Gemini's power and the role it plays in our lives.
Gemini is the communicator, speaker, and teacher. Good teachers not only have a lot of information and knowledge, they are able to communicate it effectively and clearly. They are able to adapt their language to speak to who they are teaching. They share it without bias - facts are facts. There is no one TRUTH (this sort of blind faith belongs to Gemini’s polarity Sagittarius - this is it‘s shadow expression); we get to decide what is truth for us, and we get to change our mind, again and again. And again. And again. Gemini needs no truth other than their ability to process ideas and communicate those ideas, to tell their story from a factual place. Knowledge, facts, articles, books, and documentaries are all things that are very favorable with Gemini energy.
There is also the ability to tap into what feels light, and everything can feel light when looking through Gemini’s curious lense. Gemini is symbolized by the twins, acknowledging both our light our shadow, that we are very multifaceted and can change in an instant.
When we embrace our ability to be highly changeable, to change our mind, to completely change direction, to abandon what we were once completely obsessed with learning about because we discovered something new we want to become completely obsessed with and learn about (for now), we can live lighter because we have not put expectations on ourselves. This can be true with relationships, diet, style, career, and anything else under the sun. Knowing where Gemini is in your birth chart will help you better understand this personally.
Self-trust can be a challenge as the ability to make “good decisions” as per our society can be tricky for Gemini. It’s not because they are prone to bad decisions, but because Gemini can change their mind completely, several times over the course of a day (or an hour).
There are many characters within us, and no season can help us get in touch with all of these characters quite like Gemini can. As this season nears it's close, take some time to talk to yourself, write in the journal, and get in touch with who you are at the deepest level. You may be surprised when you see what it is you really need. Using your Gemini logic can help put all parts of yourself in it’s proper place, so you can keep moving, and not succumb to feeling stuck.
Lots of Love,
