The New Moon in Gemini
It’s Gemini season!
This is often a really busy time of year!
Really, it's a miracle I even was able to write for this new moon.
While my life has gotten busier than I’d like it to get, I realize I am still the one behind my choices. Things have been unusually busy for me, and part of my new moon intention is to take better care of myself by preparing better.
We don’t make bad choices, we have bad habits that lead us to bad choices, and those bad choices that lead us to destinations other than what we desire for ourselves.
Our choices are excellent data, they show us where our personal will and Universal will collide. There are many, many things that contribute to the decisions we make, but ultimately, we are in the driver’s seat of our lives, even where the circumstances feel out of control, and circumstances often do feel out of control, don’t they?
The Universe knows what we are capable of and wants to give us all that we desire, but we have to align with our authenticity, we have to align with love. When we are aligned we love, life feels full (in a good way, not overwhelming), and all we need is right there, waiting for us.
The challenge with Gemini is that there is rarely one choice that seems clear and true, and if we are looking for that one clear, true choice, we may find ourselves constantly making T-charts, asking friends for their input, convincing ourselves that nothing will work out because nothing is clear. Another challenge with Gemini is the tendency to only see the surface. While Gemini is known for mental quickness and wit, the fast pace of the mental process on Gemini leaves us lacking the depth of perception we need to see the truth of a situation.
If you're feeling off, it's ok. Just always remember during this moon cycle that with Gemini, clarity comes with communication. What’s your message with this new moon and with this life of yours? Our choices tell us a story because they reflect what we believe. The love in our life reflects what we believe and what we are open to receiving, or not receiving.
This is a time where some simple self reflection through writing or even talking to yourself can be super effective.
It’s also a time where you want to nourish your mind. Find a book that really feels expansive to you. Make an intention to discover a new writer or speaker (my current favorite is Charles Eisenstein - check out some of his videos on instagram or articles on medium) that has inspiring and exciting ideas, or invest in some new material by a voice you already love and admire. The more you invest in yourself, the more you are able to invest in others, and the more likely you are to heal your patterns and attract the love you want.
What we can embrace and learn during Gemini season is the importance of learning, of investing in new ideas and having new experiences that teach us what is possible for us. Don't think small. With Gemini being the communicator, it’s important that our mind is clear, healthy, rich, and inspired so that our message is one that enriches our own lives and the lives of others.
Meditation: It may be harder than usual to quiet the mind, which makes meditation all the more important right now! Sometimes I just lay down and listen to meditative music.
Herbs: Oatstraw, mint, lavendar infusions. Or keep it simple and just have some chamomile tea or this LOVE tea - my new favorite!
Food:Healthy fats (avocado, cold pressed oils) and proteins (beans and legumes, or clean animal foods) will keep you grounded.
Be mindful of: Too much caffeine or overstimulation, especially if you have some gemini in your chart.
Getting to bed at a healthy hour.
Take an honest look at your relationship with your phone and social media. I know that my phone habits absolutely close me off from the people in my life, which is why I'm taking this season to reestablish a healthier relationship with it.
Have a Happy & Healthy New Moon,
Lots of Love,
